It's a scam
Suppliers and businesses are advised to exercise caution after a **Request for Quotation (RFQ)** surfaced claiming to be issued by the **Department of Correctional Services (DCS)**. The document requests quotations for the supply of **2,400 NASH1425T Compartment Dinner Plates**, with delivery to the **Leeuwkop Correctional Centre Management Area in Johannesburg.
The RFQ lists **Mandlenkosi Jika** as the contact person, providing a landline number and two email addresses: one using a government domain and another using a **personal Outlook account**. This combination is a **major red flag**, as legitimate government procurement processes typically do not require or allow submissions through personal email addresses.
While the document appears formal and includes standard sections such as pricing schedules, delivery details, and quotation conditions, **scammers often replicate official tender templates** to deceive suppliers. The inclusion of real locations like the Leeuwkop Management Area further adds to the illusion of legitimacy.
