⚠️ WHY THIS IS A SCAM

These are the classic hallmarks of a tender scam:

  • ❗ The email may appear “official” but uses a forged sender address or lookalike domain.

  • 🧾 The product (tactical boots) is often non-standard or not typical of your business scope.

  • 🔄 You are told it’s acceptable to outsource the product, then pointed to a fake “supplier”.

  • 💸 Once you pay the “supplier”, you receive nothing, and the scammer disappears.

🔍 HOW TO VERIFY LEGITIMATE RFQs

  1. Check the RFQ number on the official government eTender portal: https://etenders.treasury.gov.za

  2. Call DCS directly using verified contact details from www.dcs.gov.za

  3. Do not reply to unfamiliar or suspicious procurement emails without confirming their legitimacy.
