đ© Major Red Flags
| Email address mismatch | Appears to come from @sita.co.za but uses a fake reply-to domain: @sita-tender.co.za |
| Unfamiliar contact (Veronica Siyali) | No known employee with that name at SITA |
| Product doesnât match real tenders | KC55X R12 Biometric Access System is a common element in fraudulent tenders |
| Urgent deadline (3 days) | Pressure tactic to prevent verification |
| Excessive document requests | Used to gather sensitive business and director info for identity fraud |
| Goods delivered to a valid SITA address | This is used to make the scam appear legitimate |
â ïž What Actually Happens
You receive an urgent RFQ email from a fake SITA official.
You're asked to quote for a large quantity of biometric devices.
They instruct you to buy from a "recommended supplier" to fulfill the order.
Once you pay or deliver the goods, communication stops.
Your money or stock is lost, and the supposed buyer (SITA) never placed the order.
đ This Is Not a Real Tender
You can confirm its illegitimacy because:
â
It's not listed on the eTenders portal
â
SITA does not use emails like @sita-tender.co.za
â
No official tender is issued or signed by âVeronica Siyaliâ
â
The product description is non-standard and often reused in scams
â
The contact number +27 12 516 0119 is used across multiple fraudulent tenders
