⚠️ SCAM ALERT: Fake DCS RFQ from “Ronald Mofsya” – Department of Correctional Services Impersonation

South African businesses are again being targeted by a fraudulent procurement scam, this time through emails impersonating the Department of Correctional Services (DCS). The email in question falsely uses the name Ronald Mofsya and directs all communication to the suspicious email address phumzilemabene@rfqdcsgovt.org.

🚨 RED FLAGS TO WATCH OUT FOR

• Email domain @rfqdcsgovt.org is not legitimate. Genuine DCS emails end with .gov.za.

• Language such as “even if outside your usual expertise” and “please outsource” is a classic scam tactic to trick you into sourcing from a fake supplier.

• Phone numbers provided are often not traceable to any legitimate department office.

• No such tender appears on the official DCS site or National Treasury's eTenders portal.

• 📩 Be cautious of emails urging you to redirect queries and quotations to suspicious third-party addresses.
